This one is female Isabelline Shrike

Hi Askar, this one looks exactly like the picture of a first-winter Turkestan Shrike that is in my book. How can we tell the difference?

2021-03-30. Robert Parker:

Maybe the fact that it lacks the white brow? But interestingly, my book shows the Isabelline with a white brow, too! :-)

Robert, I am sorry, now is time of migaration of Isabelline Shrikw, early to Turkestan Shrike, so I wrote comment looking only to date, but in real this female has white belly and brownish (not reddish) pattern in flanks, means you are right, it looks more likely Turkestan Shrike than Isabelline one.
